1821 Prayer meetings begun in Daniel & Eliza Evans house on Water Street
Part of Petersburg Circuit in Troy Conference, along with 7 other small churches
1837 First Sunday School organized
1846 First building dedicated
1849 Taken off Petersburg Circuit & received own pastor
1872 Present building dedicated, providing stability
1875 Gift of organ, to become focal point of music ministry of the church
1910 Renovation of interior, memorial stained glass windows installed
1921 Methodism introduced in organized form
? Changed from Troy Conference to New England Conference.
1955 Rev. Newell Davis’ arrival. All committees were organized
1961 Education wing added, with Ferguson Hall, led to Sunday School of over
100 children and adults

1970-73 Aid Children Today – ACT
1972 Day Care partnership began
1981 Children’s Choir ended
1990-1995 Several major bequests (including Hosley bequest) made to the church were seen as
an answer to prayer, allowed church to do needed maintenance, to pay mission
shares 100% and to give large gifts to Nicaragua (Eglesia de Cristo) and
Habitat, etc.
Also money given by sale of property, and a donation of land for new parsonage
1993/4 Became a Reconciling Congregation
1996 Celebration of the 175th year of the church
Pastor Sandi Rehe arrived
2000 New styles of worship, praise team
2003-2004 Pastor Angie interned
2004 Pastor Sandi Rehe retired
Pastor Pat MacHugh arrived
Funds raised to cap a well in Haiti
Children’s choir under “Matsui family” direction
2008 Pastor Pat MacHugh transferred to Maine
Pastor Michelle Grube arrived
